Janine, Norman, and baby Roman were such a sweet family. I was lucky enough to capture both their maternity and newborn images – and they did not disappoint. I can’t stress enough how much it will mean to you in a couple of years that you made the investment on professional photography for your baby’s first few weeks. It’s true what they say. “It goes by so fast.”
Their feet, their tiny toes, the smell of a new baby – I promise you no matter how much you try and close your eyes and tell yourself to remember them – somehow it will fade. For months you wonder when you will sleep again, when you will be able to save money and stop buying diapers, how many more days until you can “let them entertain themselves, ” and then all of a sudden – all of that stops.
Rue falls asleep on me most nights on the couch – and Russ will carry her to her room. Last night I got to thinking, when is the last time I carried her to bed? When is the last time I really picked her up and carried her anywhere? Truth is – I can’t even remember. She is almost 6 (she looks 8) and she is so grown. I don’t know when the last time may be that she needs me to fix her hair or read to her – but I know the time will come and I’ll be thinking where has the time gone, once again?
So take the pictures. Don’t worry about your home or what you look like, I promise you none of that matters. What matters are the moments, the tiny hands, and the smiles you have.
